Biography
Through the medium of oils, I strive to evoke a sense of calmness and serenity, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the atmospheric paintings I create. Working from memory gives me more freedom and expression and the ability to work using bold brushstrokes alongside palette knife mark making achieving rich textured paintings full of energy and emotion.
inspiration
The simplicity of nature is a constant source of inspiration for my paintings, capturing the shifting light and the tranquillity of open spaces. My aim is to capture the essence of a distant view, capturing the way light interacts with land and sea.
medium
I paint mainly with oil paint and somtimes acrylic paint on canvas. I like to create heavy texture in my paintings by using a combination of gesso and chalk. Most recently I have also started using cold wax with my oils which add to the dreamy feel of my finished pieces.
